The summer final exam session at HSE University (as well theses defences) was conducted completely online. The HSE News Service talked to international students about what they thought of the new knowledge assessment technologies and how they would like to take exams in future.

Abdelilah Ghazioui first came to HSE Moscow in January 2015 to attend a winter school. He liked the experience so much that he decided to enrol in HSE’s Master’s programme in Public Policy and Political Analysis the same year. HSE University’s International Preparatory Programme has awarded diplomas to the class of 2020. International students completed their yearlong intensive studies that included a Russian language course and a variety of subject specific courses. Students of the first cohort of the HSE’s online Master of Data Science are now completing their first semester. Offered entirely online on Coursera, the programme attracts students from all over the world. HSE students came up with the idea of building HSE University’s Pokrovka Complex in Minecraft at the very beginning of the lockdown. In May, the opening ceremony was held, where HSE Rector delivered his welcome address, followed by lectures and a concert.
